Notasulga Graduation 2012
The 2012 Notasulga High School Graduation, included special guests from the school desegregation era. Students Wyatt and Lee were among 6 negro students that integrated the Tuskegee High School and then the Notasulga High School.
They never had a areal graduation. They were only handed diplomas one day in school by the principal and told they graduated. In 2012 they actually marched in as students and received their diplomas in proper style from the principal and Superintendent of Schools. Afterwards, a press conference took place in the Tuskegee Multi-Cultural Museum, which included other students from their class, the Macon County Boiard of Education, elected officials and the community. The event was sponsored by the Auburn University Center for Community and Civic Engagement. |
